Having created more than 16 jobs, Barcelos’ new flame-grilled chicken restaurant at the Wild Coast Sun is the first Barcelos restaurant to sit with the Sun International Casino Group.

Co-owner Devin Lane said he and his partners, Lonwabo Mtatshi and Michael Underwood, chose to open a store on the Wild Coast because it’s an amazing place filled with fun, outgoing people that is perfect for the franchise.

Michael Underwood, Devin Lane and David Sebe donated burgers to a local school where Sun International helped build a vegetable garden.

“The store was officially opened on July 11 with a great atmosphere in a family setting. This is our first restaurant in the Eastern Cape and is the flagship of the Barcelos headquarters,” Lane said.

He said the store manager, Siya, and the staff who come from the community, have been well trained and are doing a great job.

Located directly opposite the casino entrance, the Barcelos Wild Coast cannot be missed with its colorful African-designed interior complementing the Wild Coast Sun theme.

Mtatshi said they try to empower their employees so that they can invest in the company and become shareholders.

“We encourage them to work hard because they don’t know who is watching and is going to give them an opportunity. If an opportunity comes, grab it,” added Mtatshi,

Barcelos Family Pack.

For guest convenience, Barcelos offers take-out and sit-ins, and their flame-grilled chicken is halal-certified.
