A New Jersey-based company lobster roll The chain will open its first South Carolina location in North Myrtle Beach by the end of September.
Mystic Lobster Rolls, named after Mystic Island, New Jersey, is a restaurant specializing in lobster rolls that has locations in four different states, with South Carolina being the fifth.
Surfside Beach resident Vincent Azzarit will own and run the location with his daughter and son. Azzarit said they hope to open by September 16.
The location will be next to the Kroger on Main Street and the Bagel Factory.
According to Philip Tretola, owner of Mystic Lobster Rolls, the chain uses fresh main cold water lobster meat in every item, and it ships to the restaurant daily.
“I think it’s been a real game-changer, especially for the Myrtle Beach area and the North Myrtle Beach area where there really aren’t a lot of options for lobster rolls,” Tretola said.
Tretola, who started the franchise, recommends the “Deep South” lobster roll, which has chipotle mayonnaise and candied jalapeños, or the “Hawaiian” roll, which has coconut mayonnaise and mango. .
Azzarit said it plans to open more locations in Horry County in the future, but could not give specific details.
