PORT Stephens local Beau Curtis won the 2022 Caravanning and Camping Industry Association (CCIA) NSW Awards of Excellence last week, recognized for his continued dedication as Assistant Park Manager of Ingenia Holiday Parks One Mile Beach.

Beau has worked in the hospitality industry since graduating in 2007, starting as a kitchen helper in a fast-food chain, which quickly evolved into a shift manager role.

At the awards celebrating great achievement in the holiday and land lease industry, Mr Curtis said he was honored to be named the recipient of the Holiday Park Young Director of the Year award, having dedicated the last ten and a half years at the park by the sea. .

“It was definitely a shock to the system to hear them call my name – I didn’t expect to win but I’m really grateful to be recognized.

“There were so many other amazing nominees, so it was an honor to be nominated among them,” Mr. Curtis said.

“Working in the tourism industry is such an exciting experience, and I really love my job and my team at One Mile Beach.

Beau has worked in a variety of roles since her early days in the industry, including as a housekeeper, on her chain journey to assistant park manager at Ingenia Holidays One Mile Beach.

“It was such a special moment to be able to celebrate my victory surrounded by Team Ingenia and we had a great evening at Randwick Racecourse celebrating all the hard workers in our industry.”

Ingenia Holiday Parks General Manager of Tourism, Matthew Young, said: “Beau’s vast experience enables him to bring the best out of his team, with his attention to detail driven by his time in multiple roles across the park. , ensuring the customer experience is optimal across all touchpoints,” said Young.

Beau is not ready to rest on his laurels however and plans to continue to develop his abilities and skills as Assistant Park Manager at Ingenia Holidays.

“When I think about my professional development and my future career, I hope to continue on this trajectory to one day become a park manager and manage my own property,” he said.
