An Oola Bowls cafe has opened in Intercourse, the Lancaster berry bowls and smoothie restaurant’s first franchise location.

The new Oola Bowls takes place at 3465 Old Philadelphia Pike where it features a walk-in window and outdoor seating area next to AAA Buggy Rides. There is also a window counter inside.

Oola Bowls’ menu features bowls built around mashed acai or dragon fruit that can be topped with fruit, peanut butter, granola, and other ingredients. The dark purple acai berry, native to Brazil, has been touted as a superfood for its antioxidant properties. The menu also includes smoothies, coffee drinks, and snacks such as peanut butter and Nutella bites.

The franchisees of the new café are Keith and Becky Lehner as well as Randy and Jeanna Simmons. Becky Lehner is a first cousin of Brock Snider, who along with Joe Ferderbar launched Oola Bowls in 2018 with a food truck and stall at Lancaster Central Market.

Ferderbar and Snider, which operate an Oola Bowls cafe in Manheim Township, have entered into franchise agreements with operators planning to open cafes near the town of Lebanon and in Camp Hill. They hope to open 10 franchises next year.

Oola Bowls will add 3 franchise locations; Opening of the 1st café by November at Intercourse
