PERRYSBURG – A new source of Louisiana-style fast food chicken could be coming to Fremont Pike.

Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers franchise is slated to be located in Perrysburg Township at 10576 Fremont Pike in the French Quarter. The location is in front of the current Kroger Fuel Center.

The Mannik and Smith Group, Columbus, is the civil engineering group that recently submitted plans to Township Zoning Administrator Kelly Moore for the informal site review by the Zoning Commission on December 13. The designer is the Olio Development Group, also from Columbus.

Plans say the main entrance is from Fremont Pike and can accommodate an average of 29 cars with a dual-stack drive system. The estimated number of seats would be 60 at most. The chain also offers online ordering and take out.

The informal exterior elevations are also shown on the architect’s drawings. Accents finished in red brick, stucco and red reclaimed metal are the current style of franchises.

The Chicken Fingers chain has over 500 restaurants with over 23,000 employees. Representatives of Olio Development Group could not be reached. Raising Cane’s corporate headquarters are in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The next zoning meeting will take place on January 10, during which a formal review of the plans will take place. Moore expects a submission in late January of complete construction plans.
