Royal Caribbean is celebrating the upcoming fall 2023 launch of its Icon of the Seas with the “Making an Icon” video series that kicked off this week, according to a press release.
The series premiere episode, “Envisioning an Iconic Vacation,” introduces viewers to the innovators behind the all-new ship. Naval architects, interior designers, industrial engineers, futurists and more share details about the early days of imagining the soon-to-be-unveiled cruise ship, a process that has been going on for more than five years. year.
The series begins with the idea of creating “the greatest vacation in the world” aboard the Icon and guides viewers through the process of making the project come true, according to the company.
“Icon is truly the best of everything Royal Caribbean has built over the past 50 years,” said Michael Bayley, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International.
“It is the most transformational ship the world has ever seen. It’s an unrivaled entertainment vessel, it’s an adrenaline-pumping thrill, it’s amazing food and drink. Simply put, Icon will be the best family vacation in the world,” commented Jay Schneider, Director of Product Innovation, Royal Caribbean International.
Icon of the Seas aims to bring together the best of all experiences and vacation types, from city breaks to beach retreats and all-inclusive resorts. At the same time, it maintains a “defined approach” to delivering the best results and making the experience unique for its customers, as product innovation manager Yael Steinhart said.
The Royal Caribbean team explained how the process of building their promising new ship began with collecting guest data and how the interaction with their guests played a key role in the thought process behind the creation of the vessel. Next, the episode takes viewers through the use of ideation and design to actual translation into a strategic framework comprised of five pillars.
The most important pillar of the new ship is “unparalleled aquatic experiences” and maintaining contact with the element of water, as Steinhart explained. Then, get your adrenaline pumping through different forms of activities, suitable for a family vacation. The team’s fourth vision is to provide sensational entertainment with a variety of additional shows and acts, and last but not least, to celebrate food and drink on board with a varied menu.
The series is available to stream on Royal Caribbean International’s website, as well as on its YouTube channel.
