It goes without saying that at Ski Independence we are incredibly passionate about winter sports. However, we understand that a trip to the mountains is more than just skiing or snowboarding. A number of our regular customers don’t wear skis at all and instead prefer to relax, breathe the fresh air and simply experience being at one of our star resorts for pure mountain enjoyment. With that in mind, we’ve selected our favorite properties that will suit skiers and non-skiers alike – ideal if your other half doesn’t quite share your love of skiing!

Hotel Mont Blanc, Chamonix

Chamonix offers much more than skiing. It is a fantastic town to visit with an excellent choice of restaurants, bars and tourist attractions as well as spectacular mountain views. The town itself is charming and historic and it’s perfectly pleasant to just wander the streets.

If you’re feeling brave, the Step into the Void® experience will test your head as you stare into the 1,000m void below the glass floor! The little red train that will take you to Montenvers station is also an excellent excursion offering a breathtaking view of the Mer de Glace. If you just want to relax, the spa facilities at the magnificent 5-star hotel Hotel Mont Blanc are amazing. You will find a magnificent heated outdoor swimming pool with beautiful views of Mont Blanc as well as a fitness room, sauna, hammam and an excellent choice of spa treatments.

Hotel Mirabeau, Zermatt

Zermatt is a brilliant all-purpose destination with lots to do besides skiing. The biggest draw for visitors is of course the magnificent view of the Matterhorn, and the best way to enjoy this is to take a trip on the Gornergrat Railway at 3100m. Not only will you be able to admire the breathtaking panorama, but it is also a great place to meet the skiers in your group for a lunch.
