Welcome to the first fall weekend! From BMS West Seattle Events Calendar and inbox:

TRAFFIC ALERTS: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., work will be in progress at Duwamish Longhouse signage site on West Marginal Way. In addition, the 26th SW northbound remains closed between Roxbury and Barton.

GOT OF WEST SEATTLE: Penultimate day of the weekday dinner benefit for the West Seattle Food Bank. 27 catering establishments participate – some donating a percentage of the proceeds, others with specific menu items. The list of locations and other information is available here.

BACKGROUND MEETING AT LINCOLN PARK: The West Seattle Road Runners organize a meet in Lincoln Park (8011 Fauntleroy Way SW) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with more than 400 runners expected. The organization told WSB: “We would like to let the community know that parking can be very limited in the park during the race, but everyone is welcome to come and cheer on the West Seattle team! Riders aged 5 to 14 will participate in the first local XC race since 2019. ”

FROM STEWARDSHIP TO PARENT: 10 a.m. interfaith service at Our Lady of Guadalupe (35th / Myrtle) – broadcast live too. Details here.

CLEANING VOLUNTEERS: Scott Dolfay, whose story we told here, is still finishing the cleanup of his old rental home in Arbor Heights. “One more day of effort should be enough. For those who can, we ask for another volunteer effort at 3936 SW 97th St, 10:00 am (today). The 30 cubic meter bucket has been removed and an empty 15 cubic meter bucket is in its place.

WEST SIDE ARTISTS STUDIO TOUR: 9 studios, more than 30 artists! Visit between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. today and / or 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. tomorrow. The list and the map are in our calendar list.

ROCK & GEM SHOW: 10 am-4pm in the aisle at 2009 SW Dakota. Herbert says, “Our rock and gemstone show in the aisle is a lot of fun.”

AT C&P CAFÉ: Live music with Marco de Carvalho, Hans teuber, and Jeff Busch, 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. (5612 California SW; sponsor WSB)

CHEER FOR CHILDHOOD CANCER FIGHTERS: 11 am-3pm at the lowest Riverview Playground (7226 12th SW), you are invited to cheer on the players at About Explosion! dodgeball tournament to raise funds to fight against childhood cancer. Music, food, fun. (You can also donate here.)

WAGYU SMASH BURGERS: Lady JayeMonthly sale from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (or as long as they last) of Wagyu beef burgers to go. (4523 Southwest California)

MEMORY OF JERRY BROCKEY: The celebration of life for Mr. Brockey is at its namesake center on the South Seattle College (sponsor WSB) campus (6000 16th SW), 2 p.m.

OKTOBERFEST: 2 p.m.-6 p.m. with beer and kids at Highland Park Corner Store (7789 Highland Park Way).

OPEN MIC: TO The western place of Seattle (2920 SW Avalon Way), from 6 p.m.

SOCCER: West Seattle High School hosts Kent Meridian HS, 7 p.m. at Nino Cantu South-West Sports Complex (2801 SW Thistle).

WESTERN END GIRLS: 8 p.m. to The lark (2803 Delridge Way SW). Note: proof of vaccination required.

LIVE MUSIC AT THE BEACH: 8:30 p.m. to J&J Public House (2808 Alki SW), live music conducted by Grammy winner André Gouche. $ 10 coverage.

WEST SEATTLE DRAG SHOW: 9 p.m. to Admiral Pub (2306 California SW; sponsor WSB), it is Dolly Madison and the DJ.
