1h41: Another big Seattle fire expedition – this time directed to a report of a possible fire at Beach Drive and Jacobsen Road. Upcoming updates.
(Added: video sent by Ann)
1h44: The first teams on the spot say that smoke is visible from a house.
1h51: The address is now the 4700 block of Beach Drive. “Water on the fire”, a firefighter has just said to his colleagues and to his dispatch. …and a minute later they reported the fire was under control.
1h54: They have just checked the basement of the house and report smoke and flames there.
1h59: They also found fire “in the walls”. No news of injuries so far.
2h12: The fire is extinguished; No one was inside, firefighters report. If the revised address on the SFD log is correct, this is the house just south of Emma Schmitz’s point of view it was the old one Quesnel-Restaurant decades ago. It is now on the books as a duplex.
2h28: Some units are licensed. The cause is still under investigation.
2:39 a.m.: Beach Drive BlogThe photo confirms that it is the old Quesnel.
3 a.m.: BDB now says it’s 4701 Beach Drive, not 4703 as recorded by SFD. Same building, though. In the meantime, we’ve added a video above, sent in by Ann.
