TRAFFIC ALERTS: Here is what SDOT announced for today:

*The eastbound lanes of the Spokane Street Overpass will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, as scheduled here.

*By 7 a.m. today, crews should complete overnight work on the markings at 1st Ave S/East Marginal Way S and 2nd Ave SW/Highland Park Way SW.

MORNING MUSIC AT C&P: 10:30 a.m.-noon, Marco de Carvalho and his friends perform at C&P Coffee Company (5612 California SW; WSB sponsor).

PADDING POOL/SPRAYPARK: It’s the last weekend for the upper center wading pool Lincoln Park (8011 Fauntleroy Way SW), open from noon to 7 p.m. Highland Park Water Park (1100 SW Cloverdale) will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. (daily until September 18).

COLMAN POOL: The last Saturday of the year when you can swim in the outdoor swimming pool of the Lincoln Park shore, 12 p.m.-7 p.m.

WOODEN HOUSE MUSEUM: noon-4 p.m., the Seattle Southwest Historical Society museum on Alki is open today (61st/Stevens).

‘LONG LIVE KING CEE’ DAY: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Southwest Teen Life Center (2801 SW Thistle), a free event for young people – here is the invitation from the organizers:

In honor of Antoine Matthews Jr, we will be hosting our 1st Annual King Cee Day Celebration on Saturday, September 3, 2022 in West Seattle at the SouthWest Community Center from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Antoine was generous and always gave out of the kindness of his heart. We will continue his legacy of giving back by using his light to spread love and positivity throughout the city.

There will be amazing vendors, live performances, back to school haircuts, face painting, games, food, a raffle and a backpack. We look forward to seeing you all there.
